Local Fall Attraction Opens for Fifth Season
The Kendall family is preparing for another year of welcoming families to their farm.
(GREENTOWN, IND.) September 23, 2020 - Kendall Family Farm Adventures Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch, located just north of Greentown, will open for their fifth season this Saturday, September 26. The Kendalls are excited to continue their tradition of offering outdoor, family-friendly activities featuring a five-acre corn maze and four-acre pumpkin patch close to home while incorporating new safety measures with COVID in mind.
“We feel like it’s even more important this year to give families something that they can get out of the house to go do - especially now when choices are limited. Our farm has become a fall tradition for many in the local community and we are taking extra precautions to ensure that our guests can feel safe while visiting us,” Brittany (Kendall) Bright, family member and marketing director for Kendall Family Farm Adventures said.
Bright said they encourage their guests to wear masks while visiting but they are only required when social distance is not possible, specifically on the hayride or inside their enclosed gift shop. All equipment that is shared will be sanitized between uses and the number of people on the hayride will be limited. A full version of the farm’s COVID-19 safety plan is available on their website.
Each year, the family adds to their adventure by introducing a new activity. This year, their maze design incorporates a smaller, optional one-acre ‘mini-maze’ path that families can choose to do if they are not up for the full maze.
“The mini-maze is a great option for families with small children that are very ambitious about going into the corn maze but lose interest fast,” Bright said.
Additionally, the family plans several community events throughout their season. This year, they are hosting their second scarecrow contest, a kid’s coloring contest, a Touch the Truck & Tractor event on October 10, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, a birthday celebration weekend in honor of their fifth anniversary on October 16-18, and a Halloween Weekend Bash with Halloween-themed activities all weekend long October 30-November 1, For more information about their events, please visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/kendalladventures.
